When the team here at Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort learned that the Special Olympics Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run would be passing right in front of our dealership this morning, we all hurried out to cheer the team on. Local law enforcement officers from the Frankfort Police Department participated to help raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics. Just when you thought the eighth-generation Corvette couldn’t get any better, Chevrolet has gone and topped themselves with the Corvette ZR1X. The ZR1X combines the LT7 V-8 engine from the ZR1 with a version of the Corvette E-Ray’s electric motor to provide a total of 1,250 horsepower. GM estimates that the ZR1X will have a 0-60 time of under two seconds and a quarter mile time of under 9 seconds. “From day one, we designed the mid-engine Corvette architecture with ZR1X in mind,” said General Motors senior VP Ken Morris......

The Chevy Equinox EV is already a great-looking crossover utility vehicle, and it’s about to become even cooler. A Midnight Package will be offered for the 2026 Equinox EV on the LT1 trim to give it a stylish new look. The package includes black emblems for  the bowtie, wheel caps, nameplate and AWD badge, black painted outside mirror caps, black mid fascia, and black painted aluminum wheels. Production of the 2026 Equinox EV is scheduled to begin in early August, so we should see our first Midnight equipped vehicles in the showroom shortly thereafter.
