Just when you thought the eighth-generation Corvette couldn’t get any better, Chevrolet has gone and topped themselves with the Corvette ZR1X. The ZR1X combines the LT7 V-8 engine from the ZR1 with a version of the Corvette E-Ray’s electric motor to provide a total of 1,250 horsepower. GM estimates that the ZR1X will have a 0-60 time of under two seconds and a quarter mile time of under 9 seconds. “From day one, we designed the mid-engine Corvette architecture with ZR1X in mind,” said General Motors senior VP Ken Morris. “This is the most revolutionary platform in Corvette history, supporting the widest range of American sports cars and delivering world-class performance at every level.” The ZR1 is expected to arrive in our showroom later this summer, with the ZR1X expected before the end of 2025.
