Late last week, General Motors announced their investment plan of $918 Million in order to support the production of the sixth-generation Small Block V-8 engine in addition to EV production and future strategies. The announcement noted four different locations for U.S. Plants, including two in Michigan, one in Ohio and one in New York. The 2023 Chevrolet Camaro at Phillips Chevrolet boasts impressive performance features with a classic design that will attract the interest of onlookers. It boasts four engine options, including one V6 and two V8 powertrains.

The standard engine is a 2L Turbo making 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft of torque. You can upgrade to the optional 3.6L V6 engine, which cranks out 335 horsepower and a torque of 284 lb.-ft. This engine pairs with an available 10-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission for maximum efficiency.

 

General Motor’s initiative is to become an all-electric manufacturer by 2035 and in efforts to get there, they’ve been considering tapping into the baby pickup truck market in order to compete with trucks like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. The vehicle considered would be part of GM’s lineup of affordable EVs priced under $30,000 and would have a 4 – 4.5 ft long bed with a low roofline and two doors. For the Corvette’s 70^th Anniversary, Chevrolet has introduced the first-ever electrified Corvette – the 2024 E-Ray. The E-Ray is the only sports car that pairs two separate propulsion systems to provide a naturally aspirated V8 power with electrified responsiveness powered by eAWD, making it one like none. Equipped with a 6.2L LT2 Small Block V-8 and an electric motor the E-Ray produces a combined 655 horsepower, allowing it to be the quickest production Corvette in history clocking a 2.5-second 0-60 mph time before breezing through the quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds.

Recently announced, the 2024 LCF (Low Cab Forward) will offer two new gas-engine powered configurations – the 5500 HG and 5500 XG. Both new models will cradle the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gas engine. 

Debuting its revised exterior style, new interior, fresh technology and powertrain updates last September, the 2024 Silverado HD will also have six new exterior paint options to choose from. In order to make way for new colors, the following 2023 model year colors will not be available for the 2024 model: Cherry Red Tintcoat, Greenstone Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Northsky Blue Metallic and Silver Ice Metallic. Consumers will be able to choose from Auburn Metallic, Dark Ash Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Slate Gray Metallic and Sterling Gray Metallic.

 

The 2023 Bolt EUV will get a new system that replaces the conventional side mirrors with cameras that can show blind spots, give a 360-degree view of what's around you, and even show you what is behind your vehicle. This technology has been in development for several years now, but it seems to be ready for prime time.

The Bolt will be able to detect when you are starting to fall asleep, and alert you. The car will also alert you if you are not paying attention, with a vibrating steering wheel and a loud beep.

 

Mark your calendars! The 2024 E-Ray will be debuting on January 17, 2023, per a video posted to the Corvette Instagram page. Opening on an icy test track, the E-Ray can be seen accelerating and attacking snow-lined tarmac while giving us a glimpse of the front end, wheels, and carbon ceramic brakes. With the visuals of a “Stealth” driving mode, we can only assume that there will be a pure electric driving mode that will propel the car only using the onboard battery pack and electric drive motors, but we’ll have to wait until next week to confirm this…
