GM to Invest $918 Million to Support Growth Strategy

Late last week, General Motors announced their investment plan of $918 Million in order to support the production of the sixth-generation Small Block V-8 engine in addition to EV production and future strategies. The announcement noted four different locations for U.S. Plants, including two in Michigan, one in Ohio and one in New York. GM to Explore Mini Electric Pickup Truck

General Motor’s initiative is to become an all-electric manufacturer by 2035 and in efforts to get there, they’ve been considering tapping into the baby pickup truck market in order to compete with trucks like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. Debuting its revised exterior style, new interior, fresh technology and powertrain updates last September, the 2024 Silverado HD will also have six new exterior paint options to choose from. In order to make way for new colors, the following 2023 model year colors will not be available for the 2024 model: Cherry Red Tintcoat, Greenstone Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Northsky Blue Metallic and Silver Ice Metallic. Consumers will be able to choose from Auburn Metallic, Dark Ash Metallic, Lakeshore Blue Metallic, Radiant Red Tintcoat, Slate Gray Metallic and Sterling Gray Metallic.

The 2023 Bolt EUV will get a new system that replaces the conventional side mirrors with cameras that can show blind spots, give a 360-degree view of what's around you, and even show you what is behind your vehicle. This technology has been in development for several years now, but it seems to be ready for prime time.

2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray Debuting this Month

Mark your calendars! The 2024 E-Ray will be debuting on January 17, 2023, per a video posted to the Corvette Instagram page. Opening on an icy test track, the E-Ray can be seen accelerating and attacking snow-lined tarmac while giving us a glimpse of the front end, wheels, and carbon ceramic brakes. With the visuals of a “Stealth” driving mode, we can only assume that there will be a pure electric driving mode that will propel the car only using the onboard battery pack and electric drive motors, but we’ll have to wait until next week to confirm this…
