The Q4 2022 sales statistics for the sports car segment are in, and we’re happy to announce the Chevrolet Corvette dominated its competitors taking a 58 percent market share. In Q4 of 2021 8,293 Corvettes were sold and increased about 10 percent reaching 9,130 units in Q4 of 2022. Sharing the space with the Porsche 911 and 718 in addition to the Mercedes-Benz AMG SL-Class and AMG GT, their market share didn’t even add up to 58 percent with Porsche’s two entries at 25 percent and Mercedes’s at 12 percent.

Late last week, General Motors announced their investment plan of $918 Million in order to support the production of the sixth-generation Small Block V-8 engine in addition to EV production and future strategies. The announcement noted four different locations for U.S. Plants, including two in Michigan, one in Ohio and one in New York. General Motor’s initiative is to become an all-electric manufacturer by 2035 and in efforts to get there, they’ve been considering tapping into the baby pickup truck market in order to compete with trucks like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz.
