Mid-Engine Corvette’s Track-Specific Features

The all-new 8th generation Chevrolet Corvette is sure to turn heads as you drive down the road, but it will really show off all it’s got when it hits the track. Two new technologies coming to the C8 Corvette that are sure to impress at the track are a dedicated burnout mode and launch control. Burnout mode is designed for the drag strip’s burnout box to warm up and clean the Corvette’s rear tires ahead of a race. Once you pull up to the starting line, launch control helps you pull off the line as quickly…

Phillips Chevrolet General Manager Mike Maheras (left) and Phillips Chevrolet Frankfort General Sales Manager Brian McMahon (right) checked in on our progress board to see that we have reached our goal to raise $15,000! All three Phillips locations helped us reach our goal, and we thank them for their hard work! Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest...
85 Years of Chevy Suburban

Today we celebrate the 85th birthday of the longest-running nameplate in the automotive industry, the Chevy Suburban. First introduced in 1935, with a 60 horsepower, six-cylinder engine, the Suburban was the precursor to modern SUVs. The original Suburban could seat eight or provide 115.1 cubic feet of cargo room with the seats removed. Today’s Suburban can seat up to nine, or offer 121.7 cubic feet of cargo room with the seats folded down. “While the world has changed significantly, the Suburban is just as relevant today as it was in 1935. Suburban created the sport utility…
Phillips Chevrolet Celebrates 95 “Happy” Years

It was a very “Happy” day at Phillips Chevrolet this Tuesday, as family, friends, and coworkers past and present gathered to wish Happy Bettenhausen a very happy 95th birthday. Happy has been sharing his cheerful outlook here at Phillips since 1976, and even though he retired a few years ago, Happy visits regularly to tend to his flowers, keep our brochure racks stocked, and spread some smiles. Over his career, Happy has sold more than 7,500 Chevrolets and achieved Salesperson of the Year for 12 consecutive years. He also serves as Phillips Chevy’s community ambassador, having appeared…

Off Road Ready Chevy Silverado Spotted Testing

Thanks to the success of the Chevy Colorado’s ZR2 off road variant, it appears that the same rugged features will soon be coming to the Colorado’s big brother in the Chevy lineup. Earlier this year, Chevrolet filed for a trademark of the ZRX name, and we soon learned that it would grace an off-road ready Chevy Silverado trim level that will provide a lot more off-road capability than the current Trail Boss trim level. These spy shots show that the ZRX will have a much shorter front bumper for improved clearance as well as a metal bar below…

Chevy Camaro is Most Desired Car in the UK

The British version of the car-shopping website CarGurus recently tracked the number of searches on their website for vehicles less than 100 examples offered for sale on their website, to determine the most desired vehicles. The Chevy Camaro topped the list, beating out high-end luxury vehicles like Roll Royce and Ferrari models. “The CarGurus Desirability Score shows just how in-demand the ultra-rare vehicles can be,” said CarGurus editor Chris Knapman. “Whilst the majority of our consumers are just searching for a great deal on their next car, the CarGurus Desirability Score also
Chevy Trax Leads Segment in Sales

Everyone here at Phillips Chevrolet will tell you that the Chevy Trax provides the perfect combination of value, agility, technology, and roominess in a subcompact crossover SUV, but we may be a little biased. It turns out, a lot of car buyers agree, since the Trax just took the lead in sales for its segment. Over 37,000 drivers in the United States chose a new Trax in the third quarter of 2019 – that’s 82% more than the same period in the previous year! It’s a great time to hop on the bandwagon and get a Trax of…
