The folks over at Edmunds.com recently put the Chevy Silverado EV to the test to see if they could match the EPA-estimated top range of 492 miles on a full charge. The model tested was a Silverado EV Work Truck with the max range battery pack, and Edmunds’ team was able to squeeze an extra 47 miles over the EPA estimate for 539 total miles on a single charge. And that’s not under carefully controlled testing conditions to maximize mileage – their team took the truck out on the road for a 60/40 mix of city and highway driving with an average speed of 40 mph to replicate the kind of everyday conditions drivers might encounter.
