Your probably already knew that you can charge and electric vehicle like the Chevy Silverado EV from your home. Did you know that in case of a power outage, soon you’ll also be able to use some Chevrolet EVs to send power back to your home? When the Silverado EV RST arrives later this year, it will be offered with optional vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging technology (at an additional charge) which allows the home to draw power from the vehicle to power the home. This technology will also be offered with the Chevy Blazer EV and Chevy Equinox EV in the near future. “GM Energy is committed to making the transition to an all-electric lifestyle an even more compelling option by simplifying all aspects of personal energy management,” said Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy. “With the introduction of these new offerings, it has never been easier for our customers to access the expanded benefits of a holistic EV ecosystem, helping to mitigate the impacts of power outages and having the ability to offset certain energy costs over time.” Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including our first Silverado EVs to arrive!
