We’re all eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Chevy Silverado EV which is due to arrive here at Phillips Chevrolet later this year. We already know that the Silverado EV is expected to provide a top range of 400 miles on a full charge when it’s not towing, and will able to tow up to 10,000 pounds, but how do those figures translate into real world towing scenarios? The folks at Fast Lane Trucks on YouTube recently put the Silverado EV to the test, towing a 6,500 trailer and the results were impressive. On a full charge, with the air conditioning running, the Silverado EV was able to tow that trailer for 232 miles with 15 miles of range to spare. The Silverado EV’s average energy consumption was 1.1 kWh per mile or 38.2 miles per gallon ICE equivalent. We can’t wait to see more of the Silverado EV’s capabilities as more of them hit the streets! Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection of ICE Silverados in stock, soon to be joined by the Silverado EV!
