General Motors has announced that the Chevrolet Camaro nameplate will be retired after the 2025 model year, but it looks like it will not be going quietly. Rumor has it, the Camaro’s final model year will include the top of the line, track-ready Z/28 variant. The final generation Z/28 is expected to be powered by the 670-hp LT6 V8 motor from the C8 Corvette Z06 which could provide up 650 horsepower. Last available in the 2014 and 2015 model years, the 2025 Camaro Z/28 will likely follow in the footsteps of past generations with loads of features to reduce weight and improve performance like the Chevy “flowtie” which hollows out the Chevy badge to improve airflow to the engine. Though GM hasn’t officially confirmed a new Z/28, an announcement is expected any day now. In the meantime, Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection of vehicles to help meet your need for speed!
