Chevrolet has expanded its Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) fleet to include the Silverado into the mix. Ed Peper, U.S vice president of GM Fleet stated, “Our 25 years of engineering Tahoe police pursuit vehicles coupled with Chevrolet’s 100 years of truck success, puts us in a great position to deliver a truly capable Silverado PPV for our customers.” The new vehicle will be built on a crew-cab, short-bed, four-wheel drive platform, designed for high speeds and dynamic capability with comfort and storage capacity in mind for an every day patrol vehicle. Maintaining safety first, the Silverado will include Chevrolet’s famous Safety Assist package (available to civilian Silverados) which features technology such as Lane Keep Assist, Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and so much more! Similar to the civilian Silverado, the PPV will feature remote keyless entry and push to start to help officers get on the road quicker. In addition to the technological add-ons, the new PPV will include a 220-amp alternator, two 120-volt outlets, and an optional upfitter switch bank, providing officers the ability to stay connected to their team through their digital devices. Since the introduction of the Tahoe PPV in 1997, Chevrolet has continued to listen to officers and expand the PPV portfolio to meet the needs of the modern-day police force. Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a huge selection of Silverados for civilians.
