Earlier this morning Chevrolet announced the release of the EV Silverado. Anticipated for 2024, the new EV will give drivers a range of 400 milers on a full charge for both the Work Truck and RST trimlines. Its DC fast charging (up to 350kW³) enables the truck to add 100 miles of range in just 10 minutes, and with its onboard PowerBase charging system with up to 10 outlets, it provides 10.2kW of energy for worksite or recreational necessities! With up to 664 horsepower and more than 780 lb-ft of torque, GM estimates the 0-60 time of less than 4.5 seconds for its RST model. The WT model will be rated at 510 horsepower and 615 lb-feet torque. In regard to its body, it will be offered in Crew Cab style for both RST First Edition and WT trim levels allowing for a 5’ 11” bed. With the RST trimline the usable bed space is maximized to over 9’ of storage room with the Multi-Flex Midgate and combined with the Multi-Flex tailgate, usable bed space is able to reach 10’ 10”! Even though its electric, it still has quite the towing capacity. The RST will offer up to 10,000 lbs of maximum towing and 1,000 lbs of payload, whereas the WT will offer 8,000 lbs and 1,200 lbs of payload. After its initial launch, Chevrolet says that will release a fleet model with up to 20,000 lbs of max towing with the max tow package. Going inside the cabin of the RST First Edition model, you will find a large 17-inch diagonal LCD infotainment system and 11-inch diagonal driver instrument display with the heads-up display giving drivers a view of over 14-inches. The Silverado EV WT is expected to arrive Spring 2023 with a starting price of $39,900 + DFC (dealer freight charge) with the RST’s launch following in the Fall of 2023, with a starting price of $105,000 + DFC.
