Last week General Motors CEO, Mary Barra, announced on an investors’ call that the Chevrolet Silverado EV has received a lot of support and interest from potential customers resulting in 150,000 reservations! What’s even more exciting is that 65 percent of the reservations received are from conquest customers, or new customers not already affiliated with a General Motors brand, allowing us to branch out to even more people! GM plans to be able to produce 400,000 EVs between 2022 and 2024 and reach a capacity of 1 million EVs annually by 2025 so that by 2035 they can have 30 new EVs globally and sell exclusively all-electric vehicles. As a reminder, the Silverado EV will be available for sale during the Spring of 2023 and will come with 400 miles of range, the capability to tow 10,000 lbs with a payload of 1,300 lbs, and the ability to reach up to 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque on the RST trim, allowing it to go from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Phillips Chevrolet is committed to GM’s vision of an all-electric future – Check out all of the electric vehicle information we have on our website.
