Kelley Blue Book recently put the Chevy Traverse to the test, head-to-head against the Mazda CX-9 in a showdown of three-row family SUVs. We are pleased to report that the Traverse came out on top of the Mazda in spaciousness, affordability, and more. KBB’s drivers were impressed by the ride quality provided by the Traverse’s 3.6-liter V-6 engine and nine-speed transmission. The Traverse also earned points with a towing capacity of 5,000 lbs, whereas the Mazda is only at 3,500 lbs. While the Mazda has third row seating, KBB notes that the third row is smaller than the Traverse, while also limiting cargo space behind the seats.
