Sales of electric vehicles like the Chevy Bolt have increased by more than 250 percent year-over-year in the second quarter of 2021. The second quarter of 2020 ended with 33,312 EV units sold, whereas the second quarter ended with a whopping 118,233 EV units sold- that’s not even including hybrid or plug in hybrid vehicles! Cox Automotive conducted a poll where 30 percent of consumers indicated that they would be either “extremely or very likely” to consider an EV for their next purchase- rise in gas prices were noted as a motivator to switch to EV among with them being more efficient vehicles. With the Bolt having an upwards of 259 miles on a single full charge and a plethora of places to plug in throughout the nation, it’s no wonder why people are switch to EVs.
