In a rivalry that dates back to the 1960’s, the Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang have always competed for the title of America’s premier pony car. Kelley Blue Book recently put the two 2022 models to the test, and we are pleased to report that the Camaro came out on top in many key areas. First and foremost, the Camaro is simply more affordable than the Mustang with a starting price more than $2,000 lower than the Mustang. They were also impressed with all the amenities you get at the Camaro’s base price of $25,000, including automatic climate control, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a limited-slip differential, selectable driving modes, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, Wi-Fi, two USB ports, Bluetooth, and a 6-speaker audio system. In the department most important to pony car fans – performance – the Camaro also shines, offering a range of engines from a 275-hp 2.0-liter 4-cylinder up to a 650-hp supercharged V8, plus considerably sharper handling than the Mustang. KBB sums it up nicely: “With a choice of engines, rear-wheel drive, and a standard stick shift, the 2022 Chevrolet Camaro makes no bones about being what it is: a sports car that’s wonderful fun to drive.” Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing, and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including the 2021 and 2022 Chevy Camaro in stock and available to drive home today!
