When we first laid eyes on the all-new 8th generation Chevrolet Corvette, we knew it was going to take the automotive world by storm. And so it has, being named car of the year by MotorTrend, Car & Driver, and more. Now the biggest award in the automotive industry has announced their winners, and we are pleased, but not surprised, to report that the Corvette has been named 2020 North American Car of the Year. A jury of 50 independent journalists evaluated all of the vehicles that are new or significantly redesigned for the 2020 model year and assessed them for excellence in innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, driver satisfaction and value. Since NACTOY was founded in 1994, this is the Corvette’s third win. “The 2020 Corvette represents a new era for the iconic brand,” said Lauren Fix, North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year president. “The excitement from consumers has been overwhelming. From a journalist's perspective, this is one of the best-built GM products that exemplifies what it means to be the North American Car of the Year.” Stay tuned to this blog for more Corvette C8 news as it happens all the way up to its arrival in our showroom later this year!
