Imagine hauling a load of lumber from the home improvement store, towing a boat to the lake, bringing the kids to soccer practice, driving to and from work every day, and all of the other things you do in a Chevy Silverado without ever having to visit a gas station. That dream will soon become a reality, as General Motors CEO Mary Barra has confirmed that electric pickup trucks are already in the works for the automaker. “GM has an industry-leading truck franchise and industry-leading electrification capabilities. I assure you we will not cede our leadership on either front,” Barra said. “We intend to create an all-electric future that includes a complete range of EVs — including full-size pickups.” No further details were mentioned, but stay tuned to this blog and we will bring you the latest Chevy truck news as it happens! Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a huge selection of Silverados which will be joined by an electric truck in the not-too-distant future.
