It’s been a little while since we’ve heard anything new about the 8th generation mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette, scheduled to be unveiled on July 18th in Southern California. An interesting new clue about the new Corvette’s aerodynamics may have leaked this week as a patent application was discovered for a novel new active aero system. The application describes a system that could not only adjust the position of vents and spoilers, but also adjust ride height to optimize performance based on current drive mode and road conditions detected by sensors. The patent application was submitted with a current-generation Corvette diagram, presumably to avoid giving away details of the next-generation. We only have a few more weeks to wait and see if all of the rumored details are present when the C8 Corvette is revealed, but in the meantime stay tuned to this blog for the latest Corvette news as it happens!
