The Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport has been announced as the official pace car of the 103nd running of the Indianapolis 500. 2019 will mark the 30th time that the Indy pace car has been a Chevrolet. No other car has held this honor more often than the Corvette, at 16 times since its first appearance in 1978. “Chevrolet is honored to lead the way for the 500 once again,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet passenger car and crossover marketing. “The Grand Sport is a particularly excellent choice as its wide body and aerodynamic features are steeped in racing heritage.” Keep an eye out for the Corvette pace car during the big race over Memorial Day weekend and cheer on Chevrolet as they pursue their eleventh IndyCar manufacturer championship.
