Even though it’s base 2.0L 275 horsepower turbocharged engine produces a respectable 25 miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving, the Chevrolet Camaro isn’t the first car that springs to mind when considering fuel efficient vehicles. But that may soon change as current Camaro owners are reporting that they recently received a survey from Chevrolet asking their opinions on a potential future hybrid version of the muscle car. The survey asked Camaro drivers to imagine that they were ready to buy a new Camaro today and offered four engine options, a four cylinder turbo similar to the Camaro’s current base engine, the 6.2L 455 horsepower V8 engine currently offered in the Camaro SS, or hybrid versions of the two offering increases in both horsepower and efficiency.
