The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently studied the effectiveness of optional front crash prevention systems in General Motors vehicles, and we are pleased to report that they found a significant reduction in the number of crashes. Their study found that GM vehicles equipped with safety features like automating braking and forward-collision alerts saw a 43 percent reduction in front-to-rear crashes reported to police and a 64 percent reduction in crashes with injuries. Several vehicles in the Chevy lineup now offer these advanced safety features as available options, including the 2019 Chevy Equinox, with more to come soon.
