Edmunds.com recently got their first chance to drive the all-new redesigned 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and they were impressed with the power and ride quality offered by this new truck. The Silverado’s new 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine had plenty of oomph to get the job done – Edmunds says, “Our drive clearly demonstrated that this engine has guts. It gets the truck moving quickly, and it does so without any raw ‘four-banger’ unpleasantries.” They were also impressed Dynamic Fuel Management offered in the updated 5.3-liter V8 which can switch off one or more cylinders to provide maximum power when needed and conserve fuel when it isn’t. Their driver also found the new Silverado more comfortable, both on the road and in the cabin: “This truck's suspension breathes better and delivers a more polished ride than the old truck. It still uses a live rear axle and leaf springs, but the rear end is less skittish through bumpy corners.
