A new piece of evidence has emerged to support the existence of the long-rumored mid-engine version of the Chevrolet Corvette. The photos above were submitted in a recent FCC filing, and the logo on the back makes it pretty undeniable that this is indeed the key to a new version of the Corvette. Whether or not it is the key to a mid-engine Corvette is yet to be determined, but a couple of clues make it seem likely. First, the vehicle outline pictured on the fob does look more like the silhouette of a mid-engine vehicle than it does a current Corvette. And second, there are buttons for opening both a trunk and a “frunk,” a front storage area often found in mid-engine vehicles. It’s all still speculation at this point, but the clues keep adding up to a new mid-engine Corvette, hopefully to be unveiled during this winter’s Auto Show season.
