Production of the 2024 Silverado HD ZR2 is slated to begin in August. Different from the 2024 Silverado HD, which is built both in Flint, Michigan and Oshawa, Canada, the ZR2 will only be produced in Flint. This is for reasons of manufacturing efficiency. One of the reasons being, the off-road variants of other GM nameplates like the Silverado 1500 ZR2 are also produced only in Flint. The 2024 Silverado HD ZR2 has a unique front grille, flow-tie emblem, unique wheel opening molding with integrated mudguards, ZR2 badging in the grille bar, and a 1.5-inch suspension lift. It will also have a new Off-Road mode to adjust the brakes, traction control, stability control, throttle response, transmission shifts, and locking rear axle. The Silverado HDZR2 is available exclusively in the 2500 Crew Cab configuration. As a standard, it has a naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine supplying 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque.
