When it comes time to pick out a new set of tires for your vehicle you may be faced with a choice between summer tires or all-season tires. If you want the most out of your vehicle's performance, summer tires are the way to go. Otherwise known as "performance tires," summer tires were made to make the most out of their ground contact and use this traction to their advantage. Better braking and handling can be achieved using summer tires.

Although summer tires are preferred over all-season tires, they are not always feasible due to climate conditions. Summer tires perform well in hot, or even wet, environment. Yet, they do not do as well in geographical areas where long winters are prevalent. All-season tires are better options for use in snow and ice.

Each of these tire options are ideal for specific condition due to their purposeful design and functionality. The material of summer tires promotes flexibility, while their narrow tread is ideal for sturdiness when taking corners. Summer tires also boast an asymmetrical design, which makes the most out of its time spent contacting the road surface.
