Most drivers give their car a quick vacuuming at the same time they wash it and call it good. This is fine for maintaining your vehicle, but it really needs a thorough cleaning inside and out a few times a year.

Don’t overlook your tires when washing and waxing the exterior; they need maintenance, too, otherwise they’ll remain permanently stained and dull from brake dust and road debris. You can use a clay bar to go over your paint before waxing to catch any leftover dirt.

Your carpets and floor mats need shampooing, and air vents need dusting. It’s best to clean your interior windows and rear view mirror with streak-free spray. There are special attachments that allow you to get into tiny crevices when vacuuming. Use fabric protector and dashboard shine sparingly, as a little bit goes a long way.
