You get to choose among two motors, two transmissions, and two drivetrains that make the Chevy Equinox a great way to get around. Depending on your choice, you get up to 31 mpg on the highway and 25 in town and only slightly lower fuel economy with others.

The Chevy Equinox comes standard with a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is goof for up to 170 horsepower and 203-pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic will smooth out power deliver to either a pair of front drove wheels or all four with AWD.

Another option is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 2.0-liters of displacement. The bigger motor delivers up to 252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque that a nine-speed automatic transfers to either two or four drive wheels. The stronger motor is very popular at Phillips Chevrolet and provides up to 29 mpg on the highway and 22 in town.
