One of the most important things your car needs is fuel. Without fuel, you and your car are going nowhere. It is important to check and make sure your car's fuel system is working at its best. The Phillips Auto Group Chevrolet service team compiled two signs you may be experiencing fuel system problems.

  • Fuel Pressure - The fuel pressure gauge is important because it lets the driver know how much fuel is in the engine. Each car requires a specific amount of pressure to make sure the engine is running at its best. If you notice that your care is not utilizing the right amount of fuel pressure, it is a sign that your car's fuel pump may need to be fixed.
  • Power Loss - If you experience a sudden loss of power when you are driving your car up a hill or when you are carrying a heavy load, this may be an indication that your fuel pump needs to be serviced. Your car's loss of power in these situations is due to the fact that the fuel pump cannot deliver the right amount of fuel the engine needs under these stressful conditions.

At our Chevrolet service center, we want to make sure all drivers are safe and that their cars are running at their optimal level. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your car's fuel system, stop by one of our convenient Illinois locations and let one of our experts check it out.
