While you may have heard that your vehicle needs an oil change every 3,000 miles, this is no longer the standard for cars on the road. Some people may tell you to get an oil change every 3,000 miles, but this is because this was the old maintenance schedule for less efficient vehicles.

With advances in technology, most vehicles can now go up to 7,500 miles in between oil changes.

If you aren't sure if it's time to take your car in for an oil change, check your owner's manual. The manual will provide you with a clear maintenance schedule, including when you are supposed to get oil changes done.

If you can't find your manual, it's time to bring your car in to Phillips Auto Group Chevrolet and get your vehicle the service it needs to keep running smoothly. We will talk with you about routine maintenance and let you know the right schedule for oil changes.
