Record Numbers Use Chevy Remote Start During Polar Vortex

All-time cold temperatures weren’t the only records being broken during last week’s polar vortex – a record number of Chevy drivers accessed the myChevrolet app to remotely start their vehicles. The myChevrolet app allows Chevy drivers to access key fob functions of vehicles equipped with remote start, even if they’re out of the key fob’s range. More than 1.59 million GM vehicle owners used the app to stay warm and toasty indoors instead of waiting out in the cold for vehicles to warm up, a 70% increase over an average January day. The myChevrolet app also helps drivers keep tabs on their vehicle’s oil life, tire pressure, and fuel range, and can even help you find your vehicle in a crowded parking lot or garage. “With access to an app that connects directly to the vehicle, our customers are able remote start their vehicle from anywhere, and avoid spending extra time outside during unpleasant weather conditions," said Santiago Chamorro, GM vice president for global connected customer experience. Phillips Chevrolet of Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a great selection of remote start equipped vehicles.
