2019 Chevy Volt Gets New Features, Faster Charging

1280 × 853

The Chevrolet Volt has earned a reputation as a car that provides the best of both worlds – 53 electric-powered miles to keep short trips green, with a gas powered engine to take over and eliminate the range anxiety that comes with an all-electric vehicle. But that doesn’t mean the Volt is ready to rest on its laurels – Chevrolet has announced that for the 2019 model year the Volt will be available with a new 7.2 kW charging system that will replenish the battery about twice as fast as the existing 3.6 kW charger. The Volt will also get enhancements to its heating system and regenerative braking that can help increase electric range. The 2019 Volt will also boast a new infotainment system, an available six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, and an available wireless phone charging pad. “The 2019 Volt’s enhancements give customers more of what they love with the vehicle and make it even more useful as an everyday electric vehicle,” said Jesse Ortega, chief engineer, Chevrolet Electric Vehicles. “It’s a more seamless experience than ever.” Phillips Chevrolet in Frankfort, Lansing and Bradley has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory and a solar charging station free to use for Volt drivers.
