Just in time for Halloween, the Chevrolet Corvette and Chevy Volt come to the rescue of one of the season’s creepiest critters! The adhesive used to hold Corvette Stingray body parts together can also be used to create artificial stalactites that provide bats a home free from a deadly fungus that causes White-Nose Syndrome, responsible for the deaths of 5.7 million bats in less than a decade. Chevrolet Volt battery covers are also used to build bat-houses that can house up to 150 bats each. Besides being the unofficial mascot of Halloween, bats provide valuable services to our ecosystem, eating many of the insects that would otherwise attack crops, and helping pollinate those crops, too. So stop in at Phillips Chevrolet this weekend to test drive a Chevy Volt or Corvette, help Chevrolet save a bat, and help keep Halloween spooky!

It was a very “Happy” day at Phillips Chevrolet today, as family, friends, and coworkers, past and present, gathered to wish Happy Bettenhausen a very happy 90th birthday. Happy has been sharing his cheerful outlook here at Phillips since 1976, and holds a Phillips sales record of 43 units in a single month. It’s been a big year for Happy and his wife Dorothy who also celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Everyone here at Phillips Chevy was delighted to help celebrate 90 years of “Happy-ness” and look forward to celebrating many more!

Last weekend Phillips Chevrolet participated in Frankfort’s Trunk or Treat event in Downtown Frankfort hosted by the Frankfort Police Department. Small children were encouraged to dress up and trick-or-treat from the decorated trunks of local businesses and organizations. Mandi, from our accounting department, dressed up as a witch and handed out candy in front of a brand new 2015 Corvette Stingray Z51. About 700 children participated in a costume parade around Breidert Green to kick off the trick-or-treating event which was followed by games and hay rides. Our Corvette was first in line as children entered the parking lot to collect candy, decorated with a large spider web and giant black spider. Although the Shark Gray Metallic Corvette is no longer sporting the spider, visit Phillips Chevrolet to get a closer look at this beautiful Corvette!
Good news! Chevrolet’s all-new 2015 City Express cargo van began shipping to dealerships as of yesterday! The City Express is perfect for drivers looking for cargo hauling flexibility with efficiency, as these vans are built to each driver’s specific needs. Chevrolet knows many customers have been waiting for this vehicle for a while and that’s why Chevrolet.com offers web tools that provide customization options for their vehicle. GM Fleet & Commercial vice president, Ed Peper said Chevrolet made this available because most people purchasing these vehicles have a hard time getting away from work to stop by a dealership and don’t have hours to spend designing their van. “We give them the option to build a City Express online with their specific color, trim, and even wheels, so they are fully aware of the cost to their business before they meet with a salesperson.” The new 2015 City Express will begin at $22,950. Here at Phillips Chevrolet we can’t wait for our first 2015 City Express van to arrive!
