• Feeding Your Leftovers to Your Impala

    10/22/2014 4:18:42 PM - by Leah Pascarella

Your pup may have some competition when it comes to table scraps with the new 2015 Bi-fuel Chevrolet Impala. This vehicle can run on fuel derived from leftovers, table scraps, and even grains from brewing beer! Organic waste is used to produce a renewable energy source known as biogas which is then converted into fuel to power this special Impala. The 2015 Chevy Bi-fuel Impala can run on either CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) or RNG (Renewable Natural Gas).  The Cleveland Indians currently contribute food waste for CNG-production turning their waste into something useful! Similar to Chevy’s electric powered Volt, the Impala’s bi-fuel system seamlessly switches to gasoline power when the CNG tank is depleted. While CNG fueling stations are most prevalent in states like California and Oklahoma, many states plan to have them soon.  The bi-fuel Impala has even been nominated for the Green Car of the Year Award! This environmentally friendly Impala will start at $38,210 when it arrives at Phillips Chevrolet later this year.

  • Five Ways Chevrolet Builds Strength into Silverado

    10/21/2014 4:15:43 PM - by Amy Riley

The Chevy Silverado is one of the most dependable full-size pickups on the road due to its strength from the foundation to the engine. The 2015 Silverado’s strength can be measured through five core elements. The first is the fully boxed frame built from high-strength steel that provides a rigid base for maximum hauling capabilities. The high-strength-steel-reinforced body structure enhances its safety performance making it the only full-size pickup to earn a 5-Star overall rating in government crash tests. The Silverado also finds strength in its tough cargo box and tailgate which includes standard integrated cargo tie-downs and the CornerStep making it easier to access the box. You can’t mention the Silverado’s strength without drawing attention to the 5.3L EcoTec V-8 that offers up to 23 mpg highway! Lastly, the long-lasting Duralife brake rotors offer up to double the service life enhancing braking performance.  Director of Chevy Truck Marketing, Sandor Piszar, said, “We’ve engineered new technologies to take the Silverado to higher levels of capability and efficiency, but never at the expense of the trust owners have put in it.” Stop on by Phillips Chevrolet to check out our large selection of Silverados!

  • Two Chevrolets Among Most Searched Green Vehicles

    10/20/2014 4:17:22 PM - by Amy Riley

Yahoo recently released a list of their Top 12 most searched green vehicles, and we’re pleased to report that two Chevrolets have made the list. The Chevrolet Cruze Diesel is a popular search for drivers looking to reduce their fuel consumption without the range limitations of an electric car. And with a 46 mpg fuel efficiency rating on the highway, it even beats the fuel economy of many hybrids! Of course, no list of green vehicles would be complete without the Chevy Volt, with its combination of pure electric driving and extended range capabilities. Those searching Yahoo for the best green vehicles will be impressed by the Volt’s 35-40 miles of all electric driving followed by another 300+ miles of gas powered range from a single tank. With plenty of other fuel efficient options in the Chevy lineup and even more electric options rumored for the future, plus our own free-to-the-public solar charging station, there’s a lot for fans of green vehicles to get excited about at Phillips Chevrolet.

  • Missing Your Childhood Station Wagon? Give the Chevy Traverse a Try!

    10/16/2014 4:14:21 PM - by Amy Riley

The Detroit News recently made a new discovery: The Chevy Traverse is a worthy successor to station wagons. Although the Chevy Traverse is a modern SUV stuffed with top of the line technology, drivers who miss their station wagon may feel at home in this midsize-SUV. From its wrap-around, Impala-style grille to its signature pentagon-shaped rear window, the Traverse can haul up to eight passengers just like the family station wagon. While the classic wagon had a radio, the Chevrolet Traverse has a touchscreen infotainment system housing everything from navigation to blind-spot assist and don’t forget about the heated steering wheel, too! Mimicking the wagon, you can even flatten the second and third row seats in the Traverse for plenty of room to carry around anything you need. Although you won’t find a rear-facing, third-row bench, the Chevy Traverse has an automatic rear hatch. With all of the updated technology the Chevrolet Traverse is a perfect vehicle for those long family trips you remember in your station wagon!
