A Chevrolet Tahoe from our extensive used car inventory is headed off to star in an episode of the hit NBC drama Chicago PD. The Tahoe will appear in an episode of the police procedural drama which is set and filmed entirely in the Chicago area. A member of the Chicago PD production crew visited Phillips Chevrolet today to pick up the Tahoe and whisk it away for its prime time close up. He revealed that our Tahoe will not be done up as a police vehicle; instead it will serve as a bad guy’s car. After a week getting the Hollywood treatment, this Chevy Tahoe will return to Phillips Chevrolet and be available for sale. The Chicago PD episode starring our Tahoe should air sometime next month, so keep an eye out for it! Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a huge selection of pre-owned vehicles.

Kelley Blue Book has compiled their list of the Best Family Cars, and we are pleased to report that three Chevrolet models have made the list. The 2016 Chevy Impala and Malibu both secured spots in the Sedan category, while the Chevy Tahoe earned a place in 3-Row SUVs. The criteria KBB used to make their selections included safety, comfort, convenience, financial well-being, and the availability of special features. All three Chevy models are equipped with an available 4G LTE WiFi connection as well as Apple CarPlay compatibility, helping to keep the whole family connected and entertained on long road trips. KBB was especially impressed by the advanced safety technologies available in the Chevy Malibu, like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Alert, Automatic Parking Assist, and Teen Driver. The Tahoe earns high marks for passenger and cargo room and towing power, with enough power and room for nine people, their stuff, and trailer behind them. They recommend the Impala for families with older kids and teens, since the back seat can comfortably seat three adults. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a great selection of these award winners!

Motor Trend recently got their first chance to get behind the wheel of the new 2016 Chevy Malibu Hybrid and they were impressed by the Malibu’s combination of efficiency and technology. Borrowing powertrain elements from the 2016 Chevy Volt, the Malibu Hybrid features a direct-injected, 1.8-liter I-4 engine paired with a two-motor electric drive unit, providing 182 hp and 277 lb-ft. of torque. But the high-tech efficiency doesn’t stop there; the Malibu Hybrid also employs Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery (EGHR) technology that uses exhaust heat to warm the engine and cabin, as well as a blended regenerative braking system to recover kinetic energy during braking. And on top of all that, the 2016 Malibu Hybrid also offers all of Chevrolet’s latest technology for safety and infotainment, too, including an available 4G LTE Internet connection, adaptive cruise control, front automatic braking, and the Teen Driver system which allows parents to monitor their young drivers’ habits behind the wheel. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection of 2016 Chevy Malibus which will be joined by the Hybrid version later this year!

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has conducted a study regarding the performance of advanced safety technologies like the Forward Collision Alert and Front Automatic Braking available in many Chevrolet models. We’re pleased to report that they’ve found these systems to cut down on rear-end collisions by up to 40%. They compared data from four years of driving in vehicles equipped with these technologies versus vehicles of the same model not equipped with the technologies, and found that Front Automatic Braking led to a 40% reduction in crashed while Forward Collision Alert was responsible for a 23% reduction. Front Automatic Braking is currently an available feature on the 2016 Chevy Malibu, Volt, Tahoe, and Suburban, while Forward Collision Alert is available in the 2016 Chevy Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Equinox, Traverse, Colorado, Silverado, and SS. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory with plenty of vehicles equipped with advanced safety technologies to help keep you and your family safer on the road.
