Attracted by its great combination of efficiency, affordability, passenger and cargo room, 47% of Trax buyers have never owned a Chevrolet before. “The Trax gives customers another choice in the Chevrolet portfolio between small cars and SUVs,” said Steve Majoros, Chevrolet director of marketing for cars and crossovers. “The Trax offers customers a well-equipped, entry-level SUV that was not an option before, and it is one more way we hope to earn customers for life.” The success of the Chevy Trax gives Chevrolet a triple threat of popular crossover utility vehicles, along with the Chevy Equinox and Traverse. The big reveal of the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu is less than a week away, but in the meantime we’ve learned that a hybrid option will be available when the midsize sedan hits showrooms. Technology advancements developed for the 2016 Chevy Volt have been carried over to the Malibu Hybrid to achieve an estimated combined fuel economy rating of 45 mpg or better. A two-motor drive unit assists the 1.8L 4-cylinder engine, for 182 horsepower total system power. But the drivetrain isn’t the only place where maximum fuel efficiency has been built into the new Malibu – a body design with improved aerodynamics, exhaust gas recirculation, and regenerative braking all do their part to get the most performance out of the least amount of fuel possible. We can’t wait to see the complete package when the 2016 Chevy Malibu is unveiled next week. If you can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a Malibu, stop in and see us at Phillips Chevrolet, home of Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, where the 2015 Malibu is currently available with 0% financing for 72 months until the end of March.

No other vehicle currently in production has been going strong for as long as the Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban celebrates its 80th birthday this year, first hitting roads in 1935 – the same year Elvis Presley was born. The Suburban began primarily as a commercial vehicle powered by an inline-six-cylinder engine that produced 60 horsepower. Today, a 5.3L V-8 engine delivers 355hp and the Suburban is the SUV of choice for families looking for a winning combination of power and spaciousness. “Times have changed and America has grown beyond all imagination, but the Suburban remains a fixture for those who need the capability of a truck with maximum passenger and cargo space,” said Sandor Piszar, Chevy Trucks marketing director. The Arlington, Texas assembly plant where the Suburban is built recently celebrated a milestone of its own – this black 2015 Chevy Suburban is the 10 millionth vehicle built there! Stop in at Phillips Chevrolet and see for yourself why the Chevrolet Suburban is such an enduring fixture in Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory.

The cost of body work to a vehicle that’s been in an accident may not be on your mind when you go car shopping, but it was on the mind of the engineers who designed the Chevrolet Silverado. When they set out to redesign the current generation of trucks, engineers incorporated several features that can reduce the cost, complexity, and down time of a collision repair. The Silverado’s frame has been designed so that damage to the front section can be cut away and replaced rather than replacing the entire chassis. Body panels are held on with bolts are ultra-strong structural adhesive to minimize the amount of welding required in a repair. Flexibility has been built into the bed allowing for replacement of damaged sides or floor rather than requiring an entirely new bed box. “When we design trucks, we don’t only consider what features our consumers demand from a full-size truck,” says Mark Szlachta, a GM serviceability design engineer. “We also approach the process with our technician hat on, ensuring we engineer a truck that is straightforward and cost-effective to repair.” Visit Phillips Chevrolet where the Chevy Silverado is the #1 selling model in Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, and experience its strength and durability for yourself.
