Since then, over 15,000,000 more vehicles have been assembled at Lordstown, including the Chevrolet Cruze which is built there today. The Lordstown plant employs over 4,500 workers spanning three daily shifts and is one of the highest volume single line vehicle assembly facilities in the world. • 2018 Chevy Traverse Spotted Testing

    5/2/2016 4:06:56 PM - by Amy Riley

The popular Chevrolet Traverse large crossover utility vehicle is due to be redesigned for the 2018 model year, and a test version of the new CUV was recently spotted testing. Despite heavy camouflage, we can still spot a few design cues that differentiate the next generation of Traverse from the current generation. The glimpse of the headlights we can spot through the mesh suggests that they will be narrower and more sweptback, following the front end design cues seen in recent redesigns of Chevy sedans like the Malibu and Cruze. It looks like the Traverse will stay about the same size as it currently is, offering plenty of room for a big family and plenty of cargo, too. The 2018 Traverse is expected to be powered by a V-6 engine, possibly the same 310-hp 3.6-liter V-6 that’s found in the GMC Acadia. We’ll be sure to bring you news of the next generation Chevy Traverse as it becomes available, so stay tuned to this blog. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a great selection of Chevy Traverse currently in stock.

  • Chevy Malibu Can Help Keep Teens Safe

    4/28/2016 4:13:56 PM - by Amy Riley

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently released the results of a study that shows teenagers are more likely to engage in risky behaviors behind the wheel when they’re sleep deprived. More than 50,000 high school students were surveyed and the CDC found that those who got seven hours of sleep or less per night were more likely to engage in such behaviors as texting while driving, riding with a driver who had been drinking, and failing to use seatbelts. One way parents can help make sure their teens are driving safely is to use the Teen Driver System available in the 2016 Chevy Malibu and coming soon to additional Chevy models. Teen Driver allows parents to set limits on music volume, set audio alerts to notify the teen driver when a designated speed is exceeded, and provide parents with a report of excess speed events and if safety features like available Forward Collision Alert or Front Automatic Braking were triggered. Of course, nothing takes the place of a good night’s sleep and plenty of practice behind the wheel with a parent or instructor, but the Teen Driver System can add an extra layer of assurance for those times when a teen has to head out on the road alone. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory and a great selection of the 2016 Chevy Malibu ready for you (and your teen) to test drive today.
