Since its reintroduction last year, the Chevrolet Colorado has been the fastest selling pickup truck on the market. Starting this fall, truck fans will find even more to love about the Colorado as the option of a 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine is introduced. This diesel engine will provide 369 lb-ft of torque which enables 7,700 pounds of trailering capability on 2WD model. Fuel efficiency estimates aren’t in yet, but the diesel Colorado is expected to improve upon the gas Colorado’s already segment-leading 27 MPG highway. “Simply put, there’s no other midsize truck that can do what Colorado can with its all-new Duramax diesel,” said Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing. “Along with greater capability and efficiency, it expands the Colorado lineup to give customers more choices and the capability of exploring more possibilities on and off the road.” Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory including a great selection of Chevy Colorados, and we can’t wait for the diesel Colorado to arrive this fall.

All Chevrolet models spend plenty of time at General Motor’s Milford Proving Ground to test performance, dynamics, and durability before they reach our showroom. With the addition of a new 52-acre Active Safety Test Area, Milford now also helps develop and test the safety technologies that help keep Chevy drivers safe. Front Pedestrian Braking, one of the 22 different active safety technologies which will be available in 2016 GM vehicles, was tested at this facility and will soon arrive in the all-new 2016 Chevy Malibu. This system can detect a pedestrian in front of the car, alert the driver, and if necessary, apply the brakes to avoid or lessen the severity of a collision. “Our comprehensive safety strategy of helping customers before, during and after a crash continues,” said Jeff Boyer, vice president of GM Global Vehicle Safety. “GM historically has been a leader in the development and testing of safety technologies, and applying our deep knowledge and expertise to prevent crashes from happening in the first place.” Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, including a wide variety of vehicles equipped with active safety features to keep drivers and pedestrians safe.

Phillips Chevrolet General Manager Mike Maheras has been named a Professional to Watch by the Times of Northwest Indiana. The Times recognizes professionals in the region who are making a positive impact in their industries and communities, and Mike fits the bill perfectly. With 24 years of experience in the automotive industry, Mike has been with Phillips Chevrolet since 1997 when he started as a sales consultant, advancing to Sales Manager, then General Sales Manager, then General Manager of Phillips Chevrolet’s Frankfort location before becoming Phillips Chevrolet of Lansing’s Dealer Operator. Besides striving to maintain Phillips Chevrolet’s distinction as the #1 Selling Chevy Dealer in Illinois, it is also a priority to give back to the communities Phillips serves: “We love to be involved in the community,” Maheras says. “We are actively sponsoring several Little League teams and football teams in area schools. We invite schools in and give them field trips at the dealership where we teach them how to change oil on a car. I enjoy seeing a group of kids walking out with their Phillips’ hats looking like they could be on the job at the car dealership.” Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, as well as the leadership and commitment to make every car buying experience a great one.

Market research firm J.D. Power has just released the results of the 2015 APEAL (Automotive Performance, Executions and Layout) Study which measures how pleased drivers are with their new cars within the first 90 days of ownership. And we are pleased to report that six Chevrolet vehicles have scored within the top three of their segments, and three of those six are the overall segment leaders. The Chevrolet Colorado comes in at the top of the Midsize Pickup category, the Chevy Sonic leads in Small Cars, and Corvette Stingray tops Premium Sporty Cars. The Impala, Tahoe, and Silverado HD all scored within the top three of their respective segments. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Inventory, including a great selection of these award-winning vehicles, many priced 15-20% below MSRP.
We would like to thank everyone who came out last Saturday, competitors and spectators alike, to make the 1st Annual Phillips Chevrolet Car Show a huge success. The storms stayed away and gave us a beautiful evening to take in some automotive history. 78 vehicles brought home trophies in a wide variety of classes and categories. Attendees also got a chance to get a photo with Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s #88 Chevy SS. We’d also like to thank our partners Thunder Road Productions and the Lansing Association for Community Events who helped make this event possible. Phillips Chevrolet has Illinois’ Largest Chevy Inventory, with a great selection of car-show-worthy modern and future classics!
